How to reach the Thin Air Harvest editorial team about corrections, broken sources, and missing stations. No plant-diagnosis service.
Write to the Thin Air Harvest editorial team at contact@thinairharvest.com. That address is the only contact channel for this site. There is no phone line, no retail counter, and no social account attached to these pages.
What a useful note includes
The most useful messages name a specific page and a specific claim. “The median for Boulder looks wrong” is something we can check against the NOAA table. “My tomatoes died” is a garden problem we are not set up to diagnose at a distance. If you are reporting an error, include:
- The page address, or at least the article title.
- The sentence or table row you think is wrong.
- The source you are comparing it with, if you have one. A link to an extension bulletin or a climate station is ideal.
- Your general location only if the question is about whether a station applies. A city and approximate elevation are enough. Do not send a street address.
We read corrections against the cited publication. If the page misquoted a table, we fix the page. If the underlying climate normals have been replaced by a newer official series, we update the table and the note about which years it covers. If the disagreement is a difference of stations, the revision usually adds the second station rather than averaging the two into a number nobody published.
What we cannot do
Thin Air Harvest does not identify pests, diseases, or nutrient problems from photographs. A yellow leaf can be iron chlorosis, overwatering, herbicide drift, or ordinary aging, and those are not separable in an email. Your county extension office and, for trees, a certified arborist who can stand in the yard are the right next step. Colorado gardeners can start at CSU Extension. Utah gardeners can start at USU Extension yard and garden. Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, and New Mexico each have a land-grant extension service with county offices. Use those.
We also do not give pesticide rates, fertilizer pounds per square foot for a specific product, or legal advice about water rights, fences, or covenants. The disclaimer explains that limit. A current label, your water provider, and the state engineer’s office outrank a general article.
We cannot take plant orders, recommend a contractor, or review a product in exchange for a sample. This version of the site has no affiliate relationships. Please do not send seed, books, or tools.
Timing and privacy
Email sent to the contact address is read by the people who maintain the site. It is not a public comment thread, and it is not posted. Do not include payment information, account passwords, or photographs of documents. The privacy policy describes what this static site does and does not collect on its own. We reply when a correction or a sourcing question needs a reply. General well-wishes may not get an individual answer.
If you are writing about a station we left blank on purpose, name the station and the publication. Pages omit cities when we do not have a table in front of us. A pointer to the right NOAA or extension table is the fastest way to get that city added.
